Two generations; Charles, ca. 1795-1844, was a hatter, member of the Texan Santa Fe Expedition, and one of a party of Santa Fe traders captured by Mexican authorities. His nephews, George Alonzo Johnson and Albert J. Johnson, worked a ferry and steamship company on the Colorado River. Albert became a lawyer and business manager for Don Pio Pico.
